Spoon have become a pretty big act with appearances of SNL, writing and having songs in the Will Farrell movie ‘Stranger Than Fiction’, as well as Cloverfield. Driving to lunch during school I heard ‘The Underdog’ on a NYC based radiostation almsot everytime. This was due in part to their fantastic 2007 album ‘Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga’ and constant touring. They have been a respected act in indie rock for well over a decade, and they finally got their due!
So when I stumbled onto youaintnopicasso.com and saw there is a brand new Spoon song I knew I just had to make a post. The track is another great track by Britt Daniel and they gang. Try not to tap along to this song. Great combintion of all the things that Spoon does right.
You Ain’t No Picasso said it was played at pitchfork’s festival this summer. Can’t wait for the follow up to ‘Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.’
