Today U2 has officially released their brand new single “Get On Your Boots”. It is the first track released from their upcoming album “No Line On The Horizon”. U2 said that the album would be a lot different, so I had no idea what to expect coming in. The song is something special, there is a lot going on here. You need to give it a decent amount of time to let it grow on you. I will say this much, U2 have evolved as a band once again. There is no way anyone can accuse them of sounding like “U2″ after hearing this track. There are so many cool guitar sounds and other effects it is something you really have to dive into.
I wasn’t as blown away as I instantly was after hearing “Vertigo” for the first time, but after only having the track for a few hours I have been drawn back to it constantly enjoying it more and more with each listen. There is a really good appeal to this song, I think they definitely picked the right song to introduce their new album. The song already has a strong growing power, and that is always the sign of a strong track. If this song is any indication of the rest of the album, then we have something to look forward to. U2 always find some way to treat rock and roll right. After 30+ years they are still relevant, and rocking with teeth. Try to argue with that. They have done it again, this is very good folks.
