New Live Grizzly Bear – Cheerleader

By Will, February 6th 2009

The always great blog gorillavsbear posted a great new live Grizzly Bear track “Cheerleader”. It is from the band’s live performance at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston back in August of last year. The track is another stellar offering from the band who so far have given nothing but flawless previews of songs from the new album. I am pretty sure they played this at All Points West, because it does sound vaguely familiar to me. Ed’s voice really shines here, reminding me why his songs just may (barely) edge out Daniel’s as my fav Grizzly Bear tracks. Damn if the rest of the album can keep up with this song, this could give MPP a run for it’s money!!!

Video | Peter Bjorn and John – Nothing To Worry About

By Will, February 6th 2009 — with 1 comment

Peter Bjorn and John have come back with their first single “Nothing To Worry About” and now the video has premiered on myspace. The song will be off their new album “Living Thing” due on March 31st! If you remember even Kanye got excited about this song. It is hard to believe that it has been two years since good old “Young Folks” said hello to the world. Take a look at the video for “Nothing To Worry About” directed by Andreas and Filip Nillson. The video is pretty bizzare, featuring asians with blown up hair dancing and fighting….weird. The video and track are below, along with the other leaked “Livng Thing” song, “Lay It Down”. So far things sound good.

Raekwon – Wu Ooh (Feat. Ghostface Killah & Method Man)

By Will, February 6th 2009 — with 2 comments

We all like ourselves some Wu-Tang so it was cool to see a new Raekwon track out there. I know most of you guys are going wtf some rap on we all want someone to shout for? Well believe it or not I love myself some hip-hop every now and then. I just haven’t really given it enough love on this blog. Well the new Raekwon track “Wu Ooh” is probably a good way to get back into it. The song features other Wu-Tangers; Ghostface Killah and Method Man. “Wu Ooh” is pretty much flawless with great verses from all 3 of them, with a really solid beat and cool background of…you guessed it….wu ooh’s. I really enjoy those drums they worked in there. Overall this is pretty hot. The track will most likely be on “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2″ his highly anticipated follow up to “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx”. Let the anticipation begin! Check it out:

[New] | Gomez – Airstream Driver

By Will, February 6th 2009 — with 1 comment

I really enjoyed Gomez’s last album “How We Operate” so news that they have a new album caught my eye. The album is called “A New Tide” and will be out on March 31st. To promote the album they have made “Airstream Driver” available for free download at their website. It is a lot different than I expected but in a good way. The song has some interesting synths, and a groovy vibe. Lead singers Ian Bell’s vocals sound really cool over everything. I def approve of it! Try it below, or download it by giving your email.

Australia’s very own Architecture in Helsinki will release their new electrifying single “That Beep” on February 17th via Polyvinyl. Kellie Sutherland’s vocals will be stuck in your head all day after one listen. The song really grooves along with lots of energy and creativity. This is some cool stuff, I have had it on repeat since I had it sent to me. It seems that I am not the only one who is digging this. “That Beep” is Architecture in Helsinki’s biggest hit to date around the globe.  In their native Australia, the song is their first to crack top 40 radio earning airplay in each state.  It’s also a crossover radio smash outside of Australia, where it’s been played on BBC Radio 1′s “Kissy Sell Out,” the hottest Friday night dance program in the UK.  “That Beep” is the band’s highest charting iTunes download to date in the U.S. These are all pretty big things for the band!!! Check out the video as well after the mp3 below:

[mp3] | Empire Of The Sun – Walking On A Dream

By Will, February 5th 2009 — with 1 comment

Empire Of The Sun is an electronic music duo composed of Luke Steele and Nick Littlemore. I have seen their album cover around blogs for a good part of 2008 but never got around to listening to them. I always thought the album cover looked like a whole bunch of sci-fi movies combined into one epic cover. I finally listened to their lead single “Walking on a Dream” and it is good! Their sound sorta reminds me of MGMT, but it may because of the vocals. It is very danceable and it sounds very fresh. Highly reccomended. Play it loud on some good speakers. Thank me later.

Blind Man’s Colour [Kanye Approves Of Them]

By Will, February 5th 2009 — with 2 comments

One of the best thing’s about the Internet is that there are plenty of ways for things to spread. Small bands would agree with me here. Any band has the chance to make it big now. You never know who will stumble upon your music, I mean you could have Kanye West promoting your band. Well…that is if you are Blind Man’s Colour. Kanye promoted the band on his blog. The band is two college students named Kyle Wyss and Orha Chettri who self released their debut album “Season Dreaming” and are currently looking for a label to sign with. I’m sure that they will not be with that problem for too long with promotion from Kanye and now music blogs.

The song that Kanye promoted is “Jimmy Dove” and oh man it is great. The song sounds like a trip underwater with a lush atmosphere and lo-fi vocals. This is some dreamy stuff. Another song that I was able to come across off their album is called “The Warm Currents Pull” and I got a Animal Collective vibe from it. It is funny because BMC actually covered three MPP tracks which you can find below!!! These guys are definitely in talks with a record label by now, and the buzz shall begin very soon if it hasn’t already thanks to Mr. West himself. I really like their use of guitars and electronic elements, it really meshes well. Blind Man’s Colour guys have something special going on! I can foresee a big 2009 for these dudes.

Timid Tiger Gets The PMA Seal Of Approval

By Will, February 4th 2009 — with 1 comment

Luis over at PMA has been very good to me. He allowed me to become one of his guest bloggers as well as answering any questions I may have about blogging in general. So when he asked me to help him out, I didn’t think twice. He is releasing an EP on his site for a new German band called Timid Tiger. Yep Pretty Much Amazing is helping to distribute the bands EP on his own site! That is really big for both parties involved.

If you head over the site now, you can catch a track off the upcoming EP called “Are You Gonna My Way.” It’s basically a remix of Lenny Kravitz’ “Are You Gonna Go My Way” with verses from Ludacris and B.I.G. It is a good listen! These guys clearly have talent, good find Luis! Keep an eye on out his site for updates on the band!

[mp3] : Lily Allen – Fuck You

By Will, February 4th 2009 — with 3 comments

Lily Allen is looking pretty hot if I do say so myself (look above fellas). That photo does wonders for Lily, she looks quite innocent there. However, if you are familiar with her music you know that isn’t quite the case. It isn’t surprising that she has a song called “Fuck You” on her upcoming album “It’s Not Me, It’s You”. The song is Lily at her finest. Her lyrics are basically fuck off, yet the music accompanying her FU to the world sounds so damn happy. I really enjoyed this song, as well as the rest of the album. She is easily hands down the best pop star around today. This song is some of the best pop you will hear. Period.

The Mae Shi Sing About Christian Bale’s Anger Problems

By Will, February 4th 2009 — with 1 comment

If you have been on the internet lately, you have probably heard the clip of Christian Bale, our beloved Dark Knight going nuts on the set of Terminator 4. The director of photography kept walking near the set while Bale was shooting and it kept on distracting Bale. Let’s just say Bale was not too happy. He came off as a big prick here. We get it, your really trying to focus on your film. But this is just a big overreaction. Check out the video at the end of the post.

What is even funnier is that the Mae Shi took clips of Bale’s fury rant and made a song out of it called “R U Professional? (4 Xtian)”. The use of his clips is beyond hysterical. The lyrics are quite creative, and it actually is really, really catchy! These guys really worked fast to create this. Props to the Mae Shi, this is creativity at it’s finest. Awesome, awesome stuff.

here is a bonus mp3:

Watch the clip below to hear Bale’s rant. And the answer to their question after this probably is no!
