Bloc Party – Signs (Armand Van Helden Remix)

By Will, March 19th 2009 — with 1 comment MP3 Remix

Bloc Party’s Intimacy has been a weird record for me. At first I thought it was fantastic, but after more listens I grew less fond of it and then I stopped listening to it all together. I picked it up a few times here in there hoping to find the band that made “Silent Alarm”. I am still trying to find a place for “Intimacy”. I don’t know if it’s bad that I am promoting a dance remix considering that this electronic/dance direction that the band seems to be heading in doesn’t seem to be working. Oh well what can ya do, in the mean time here is a cool remix of Sings to shake things up a bit

I think you ought to give Intimacy another shot – if you keep looking for silent alarm in it you’re going to be disappointed, but it is a fantastic composition on its own – let the band grow up. Ion Square in particular is just a barn burner that doesn’t let up – if you can’t get behind that….well, I don’t know what to say.
