Do you like The Knife or The Chromatics? If you do, there is a chance that you may like NYC’s The Ropes. They are made up of vocalist/bassist Sharon Shy and multi-instrumentalist Toppy who is known for playing drums with the guitar hanging around his neck.
The song I got for you guys today is called “Be My Gun”. It is a good representation of the bands sound. Sharon’s vocals really give the song a gentle nature with great instrumentation all around allowing the song to soar through the air. It is a enchanting song, one that made me feel better after just one listen. This great track is only a taste of what the band has to offer. They released a full length album last summer called “What They Do For Fun” the EP for “Be My Gun” came out two weeks ago.
