By Will, April 1st 2009 — with 4 comments Album Review MP3 News

Sorry that I am a day late with tihs guys, I was a bit tied up yesterday! Anyhow here are the releases from yesterday that I reccomended you check out or look into a bit deeper. There are not as many releases as last week, but there is plenty of

Gomez – A New Tide

Gomez are past Mercury Award winners. These guys have talent, that is for sure. Many people would argue that there output has not been as strong as before. I haven’t listened to their albums all the way through so I cannot judge but I am pretty sure this is worth a listen!

[mp3] : Gomez – Airstreama Driver

Great Lake Swimmers – Lost Channels

Great Swimmers hail from Ontario Canada and have built a very solid following. There new album has hit stores and is available to stream in its entirety for free at myspace. This is my introduction to them as well. So far from what I have heard from their myspace they make great music drenched in melody. I’m all for it!

[mp3] : Great Lake Swimmers – Pulling On A Line

Other Lives – Other Lives

Other Lives hail from Stillwater, Oklahama. This is another fresh name for me, and I am floored right now. I listened to the song “Black Tables” and it is stunningly beautfiul. Wounderfuly composed, beautifully sung. These guys have a really pure sound going on. I am a fan already. I am totally buying this album! I will be posting about these guys sometime soon in the future, they are totally worth it!

Peter Bjorn and John – Living Thing

There may not be a whistling track that will take over the world, but there is plenty of good stuff to enjoy on this album. Just remember your favorite Sweds are here to make you smile. So hit play, and remember….there is nothing to worry about!

[mp3] : Peter Bjorn and John – Nothing To Worry About

The Whitest Boy Alive – Rules

The Whitest Boy Alive are the definition of chill. These Berliners are lead by Erlend Oye and make some of the coolest indie rock that is going around today. Their style is pretty straightforward but it still makes every hipster want to dance. Chill man! Just Dance!!!!!!

[mp3] : The Whitest Boy Alive – Island

Yeah Yeah Yeahs – It’s Blitz

You gotta keep letting this album play. Each time I listen to it I love it more and more. They have really developed a new sound from themselves, while keeping many elements off Fever To Tell and Show Your Bones. These guys have had one hell of a decade. This is one of 2009′s treasures!

[mp3] : Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Dull Life

That all we got, if you like what you here make sure you buy it!

Nice to hear the YYY record getting props for once, people are suspicious of electronics and it has been getting trashed left and right- though I rather liked it! “Dragon Queen” is where it’s at.
