So here we are. Another Tuesday, which means another day for your wallet to go empty. Well now a days it just means more harddrive space filled up with music, and less…porn? I kid, I kid!! But god damn, the time is flying by. My spring break absolutely flew by! It feels like just yesterday I was preparing my post for last tuesdays releases. AH

The Boy Least Likely To – Playground

The Boy Lest Likely To have such a nice, pleasant sound that you cannot listen to without having a smile on. If you are in a bad mood ready to kick the shit out of someone, I don’t reccomend putting these guys on. They are just too happy! This second LP for the band is getting a nice word of mouth. I got the track “Saddle Up” for you, it is a warm delight to get you through this week!

Death Cab For Cutie – The Open Door [EP]

Death Cab are one of my favorite bands. I don’t really advertise it as much for whatever reason but I do own every single LP of theirs. They are a band that I can rely on for every single release. They released a new EP titled The Open Door in order to let some of the b-sides from their last album “Narrow Stairs” see the light of day. These songs are all very good. Some of these tracks are totally album worthy. They just didn’t fit the mold of the album unfortunatly. Either way, this is a great value EP from one of the most reliable bands in the game.

Metric – Fantasies

I wrote a little bit about Metric a little while ago and pointed out the strengths of the bands new album. You can read that here. There really is not too much else to add except that this band knows how to make a groovy tune! I included the album standout “Help I’m Alive”. It is one of my favorite tracks of 2009 so far, so I hope you enjoy it as well:

Pomegranates – Everybody, Come Outside!

Pomegranates are a indie band from Cincinati, Ohio that play quirky pop rock that has been getting the attention of everyone on the scene. They have a very nice sounds going on. Sorta sweet sounding, like their name. Mhhhhmm

Silversun Pickups – Swoon

Silversun Pickups are a great band, that only seem to get half the amount of attention that they deserve. They have really honed in our there sound and crafted another great album. It is equally as good as their debut, if not better. I guess time will tell but one thing I know for sure is that the opening song “There’s No Secrets This Year” is a fantastic opener.

Yonlu – A Society In Which No Tear Is Shed Is Inconceivably Mediocre

I was first introduced with Yonlu through Wendy Williams of Toolshed. She sent me a 3 track sampler of this kids haunting tracks. They are even more haunting to find out that Yonlu commited suicide leaving only a note to his parents and his music. Well his music is now out there and getting a really warm response. Rightfully so. It’s a dame shame to think that this kid will never get to see how much people adore his music. RIP Yonlu. Here is a great write up about him.
