I have been lazily reading my emails but I finally tried to give each email my attention. Well I played the song attached to the promo email and the result was a great song called ‘Poka’ from the Australian band Yves Klein Blue. The band has a solid following back in Aussie-land, and now they are trying to get their name out in America. ‘Polka’ is a very good song that could definitely raise a few eyebrows. Here is a cool part of the promo that I felt was worth sharing:
Yves Klein Blue are named after artist Yves Klein’s famous IKB, a blue paint that does not lose its brilliance over time, forever appearing wet and freshly applied. The name is a metaphor for the bands aspiration to create music that will never fade.
The band saw success with their 2008 EP Draw Attention To Themselves making a splash in their homeland, and catching a few glimpses at SXSW. They are prepping their debut album for a May release. In the meantime they will be back here in the states playing gigs. Things should be taking off for these guys in the near future. Check out the dates if your in the NYC or LA area:
