Tuesday Releases: What To Look For (April 28th, 2009)

Another Tuesday is here. This is probably one of the hottest Tuesdays yet! This weeks releases are pretty slim. I guess April is finally taking a breather. Good thing too because May is going to be quite the busy month! Here are the good fellas: (after the jump)

A Camp – Colonia

A Camp is the collaboration between the Cardigans’ Nina Persson and Niclas Frisk. I quickly listened to the song “Stronger Than Jesus” and thought it was very nice. If the rest of the album is like that song, it def is worth a listen.

Bob Dylan – Together Through Life

Bob Dylan isn’t really a hard worker. He only has 46 albums. Wait what??? That is a lot of music!! The man himself is back with a brand new release full of new tunes that are still rockin. I mean if I can find a band that is still pumping out more than 10 albums I am happy, let alone QUALITY albums after 40.

Cheval Sombre – Cheval Sombre

Cheval Sombre has recorded an album full of dreamy lazy psych songs that anyone can dig. This albums release has come pretty perfectly with the days getting hotter and hotter. Put this record on while you a sweating your life away, and bumming it with a cold one.

[mp3] : Cheval Sombre – Little Bit of Heaven

Crocodiles – Summer Of Hate

Crocodiles got the band to watch stamp from Stereogum and praise from No Age propelling their buzz status. Now their debut album Summer Of Hate is here and there is a good reason for their comparisons as a cross between The Velvet Underground and Jesus and Mary Chain. They got a bit of noise going on with vocal pop melodies over it. It works, and it sounds great.

[mp3] : Crocodiles – I Wanna Kill

Great Northern – Remind Me Where The Light Is

Great Northern are back with their 2nd album with more dreamy music. These guys know how to write songs that relax the mind, body, and soul.

[mp3] : Great Northern – Houses

That is really all that caught my eye. If I missed something definetly leave a comment below and make sure I play catch up!!

I’ve already listened to the A Camp album, it was released a few months ago in Europe, really nice album but her first solo album was better.

I think Scotland’s Idlewild are releasing their album this month but only to fans who pre-ordered it.
