Green Day is almost set to release their new album 21st Century Breakdown in a few weeks. I was mixed on the albums first single “Know Your Enemy” but it is slowly growing on me. It is actually a really enjoyable song once you know what to expect. Anyway, I got the two b-sides from the single Lights Out & Hearts Collide.

The songs sound great. Lights Out actually reminded me of the old Green Day with a bassline that could have been on Dookie. Hearts Collide could have fit on Warning. I actually may like both these songs better than “Know Your Enemy”. I am curious to see if the album has any of this type of sound going on, or if there is a reason these are just b-sides.
