Arctic Monkeys Go Black Sabbath On New Album?

My boys recently told NME during an interview that on their forthcoming new album some parts are influenced by Black Sabbath! Alex Turner was quoted saying:

“We went to Latitude, ripped it up, wrote on our faces and eventually wrote some songs,” he said. “We spent the first day there on the most complicated riff you’ve ever heard.

“It goes round in seven-and-a-half-time. We used it in the end, it’s on an intro. It was like Black Sabbath.”

I like the sound of this. The darker sound of the Arctic Monkeys is really one of the best parts of the band. I cannot wait to hear this new fucking album!!!

They also said the album will come out before their big UK festival performances in August, which means we should get it in time before All Points West! This makes me quite the happy camper! Read the full article here.

I do agree that their darker stuff is some of their best. You should put up Matador i think that is their best song.

Their darker material is definitely their best. Which is why I prefer Favourite Worst Nightmare and all it’s B-sides over Whatever People Say I Am…

    Nice Blog!
The boys darker material is definately their best work. Nettles, If You Found This… & Plastic Tramp are absolute tunes.
