[NEW] The Mars Volta – Since We’ve Been Wrong

The Mars Volta are known for their insane prog rock. They can make some of the craziest music that you would call weirdly accesible. They have been at it for a while, a lot longer than you may realize. With the release of their new album Octahedron (due on June 23rd), they will have released 5 studio albums in almost 6 years! That is quite impressive.

I got the albums opener “Since We’ve Been Wrong” for you. Before you give it a download, I want you to create an expectation of what you expect from it. Insane guitar solos? Long screams from Cedric Bixler-Zavala? Not quite. In this song we actually see a more stripped down simple side to the mars volta, and I am really loving it. It almost crosses being called a ballad? I never thought I would hear that word when talking about these fellas!

Is this going to be on their new album? I’ve always been drawn to their sound. It has a way of keeping me involved for the whole song. Which is tough considering my ADHD. Not only do they keep me for a song, i’m locked in for the entire album. Amazing band!
I don’t know what to expect now that is listened to this song. Each album is different in it own way. My favorite has to be “De-Loused in the Comatorium” because of the amazing drumming by Jon Theodore. I’m not taking anything away from Pridgen. He shreads too. Im excited!!!

once again the volta have shown their genius and made something beautiful. one of the most original bands there has ever been, totally in a league of there own. make sure you buy the album when its released and support the band, not just download it.
