[NEW] Jay-Z – D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)

Auto-tuner. Pretty much all of us can agree that auto-tuner is used way too often. However, I forgive Kanye (who ironically produced this song!) for it because he actually used it properly for a purpose.

Well Jay-Z agrees with us, because his new song “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)” voices the tiredness hova has about the singing technology. (I am a little late on this, sorry about that!)

This song works because Jay-Z raps about the things that are making rap a tired genre. We really do need more real mcs’ like Jay-Z to pull rap out of the toilet bowl. We can leave Flo Rida and Soulja Boy there though.

It is 2009 and Jay-Z is still practically at the top. Yeah, he is some kind of rap god.

This one will be on The Blueprint 3 . Check it out below:

I remember listening to Jay-Z when I first discovered MTV in 4th grade. I would watch “Big Pimpin” and Dre’s “The Next Episode,” which involves Snoop Dogg with curly locks and pole dancing. ANYWAY, this just reminded me of your point – “it is 2009 and Jay-Z is still practically at the top.”
