Yesterday, while I was at work, I got a text asking me if it were true that Michael Jackson died. My friends and family always know that I am usually on top of all things music/movies so it was assumed that I already knew about the king of pops unfortunate passing. However, I had not been near the computer/tv/radio/any media all day. I honestly thought it was some kind of joke. How could Michael Jackson be gone so…suddenly?
I asked some customers and they confirmed its truth. I was stunned. This really came out of no where, and was really saddening. Michael was a music icon, a living legend. Although I grew up knowing him as a bit of a basket case, his art is what really defines him in my mind. He really contributed so much to the music industry, there is no one else like him.
I am not a huge MJ fan by any means. I really know only his hits. Which always delighted me throughout my life. Although I didn’t own any of his music, whenever his classics came on I always found them irresistible to listen to.
I love music enough to know that this guy is never going to be replaced, and is truly one of a kind. People around the globe are in mourning, and this is rightfully so. This truly is a big deal, and a sad day.
I have begun listening to his albums, and made a promise to myself to get familar with his catalogue. If you haven’t yet, don’t waste anymore time!
RIP Michael. You won’t soon be forgotten!

So what does everyone think about Michael Jackson not being buried on his Neverland Ranch? Did he need to specify this in his will to have it done? Or is it a decision for his beneficiaries to make? I am very curious.
