Arctic Monkeys Announce First Single is…..Crying Lighting

The Arctic Monkeys have announced that the first single released from their new album Humbug will be Crying Lighting. This isn’t a surprise, this has been the idea for a while. The song will get its first radio play on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show next Monday, and then it will be on itunes in able to purchase at midnight.

If you have been reading this blog, you should have heard the song before somehow. If not, here is “Crying Lightning” played live :

    Cool! Thanks for the update! I know I have to wait for the full-fledged recording before I completely judge it, but being a big Arctic Monkeys fan, I find it odd that I’m not quite excited for this single. It reminds me of the darker moments on their previous album, which wasn’t bad since they balanced that record with more fun songs like “Do the Bad Thing” and “D is for Dangerous” etc. I just hope all of Humbug doesn’t have this tone! What are your thoughts Will?
