Radiohead – Wonderwall (Oasis Cover)

By Will, July 27th 2009 — with 7 comments

I don’t have too much to say today…but here is a little Radiohead raritie that I have discovered. They basically make fun of Oasis in this short cover of Wonderwall, but it is still worth a listen. It doesn’t even make a minute through, but you get the idea.

Oh, Thom.

I wonder what the Gallagher brothers thought about this one!

Arctic Monkeys Web Transmission

By Will, July 26th 2009

On Thursday Arctic Monkeys will perform a live webcast on their website performing songs from Humbug! The time in the UK will be 9pm, which I believe is 4pm here in the states…

You can view the trailer here

Can’t wait!!!

Well, well, well. My favorite band in the world’s new record is leaking. Little by little. The other day I gave you the wonderful dark “My Propeller”, and now “Cornerstone” and “Secret Door” have creeped their way into youtube.

I would totally grace you with the mp3′s but the web sherrif would probably rape me, and I wouldn’t want the wonderful label Domino pissed at me….or the band for that matter.

Someone else uploaded the videos onto youtube however, so until they get taken down….enjoy them.

[NEW] Why? – This Blackest Purse

By Will, July 26th 2009

Why? are set to return with a highly anticipated album called Eskimo Snow. Here is a track from it called “The Blacest Purse”, which is going to be up there for best songs of the year for sure. The tack is a bit slowed down with some piano, but really takes off nicely. Their is a special characteristic about their music that makes you understand why they are so appreciated in the indie community.

Fantastic track! Can’t wait for the rest of the album!

[NEW] Jemina Pearl – I Hate People (Feat. Iggy Pop)

By Will, July 25th 2009 — with 1 comment

Remember Jemina Pearl? The wild, fun, and brutally honest frontwoman from Be Your Own Pet. Sadly, they are no longer intact.

You remember her! The girl who sings about beating the shit out of other girls, and pulls her hair out on stage during live shows? When I saw BYOP open for Arctic Monkeys a few years ago she threw a water bottle into the crowd as hard as she could after a fan complained about thirst. Well, the always entertaining Jemina Pearl is now going solo.

Her first single “I Hate People” features the legendary Iggy Pop! To tell you the truth, the song sounds just like Be Your Own Pet, and I don’t even mind. I miss that band, and if this is as good as it’s gonig to get, then I am fine with it. Sounds good to me!

It will be on her debut album Break It Up which comes out on October 6th.

[NEW] Jay-Z – Run This Town (Feat. Rihanna & Kanye West)

By Will, July 25th 2009 — with 1 comment

Right after announcing that he will be making his American Festival debut at All Points West, Jay-z watches another Blueprint 3 track find it’s way online. You have got to wonder if these guys do this on purpose! What is the chance that a track just magically leaks a week before his APW set? Hmmm….

Anyway the track is called “Run This Town” and features the always wonderful Kanye West & Rihanna. The track is going to be one hell of a hit on the radio, thats for sure. Not sure if this is the first single or not, but I can totally see that.

After a listen I approve, I enjoyed it. Jay-Z always delivers fire. Plus with Kanye and Rihanna, they make the track that much cooler. I hope to see it live next week!!!

Set Times For All Points West Are Up

By Will, July 24th 2009 — with 1 comment

Friday is perfect! All the bands I wanted to see are lined up together on the same stage. The only bummer is I probably will have to miss Ra Ra Riot now, but Fleet Foxes and The National would have to be my first choice. Saturday is a win just because Arctic Monkeys are there with no conflicts!!

Sunday is a big conflict for me!! MGMT and Coldplay at the same time!! I already saw MGMT live and wasn’t really amazed overall on their live set, so I will have to go with Coldplay. I mean its Coldplay!! I don’t care what people think of them, I am a huge fan of theirs! Also Its gonna be pain in the butt to pick out between We Are Scientists, Elbow, and Silversun Pickups.

Overall I am very pleased with the set times! I don’t get why they have bands like Etienne De Crecy are playing during Coldpaly and MGMT’s set lol but yeah…

[NEW] Arctic Monkeys – My Propeller

By Will, July 24th 2009 — with 4 comments

That’ right another brand new track from the Arctic Monkeys new album Humbug!!! Haven’t you realized that We All Want Someone To Shout for is your blog for practically everything Arctic Monkeys???

This just came to my attention that it was floating around, and I had to listen to make sure it was valid. And it is. This is a dark, mooder, more desert sounding Arctic Monkeys. This has to be a Josh Homme track. Apparently someone found this on youtube and ripped the mp3. It sounds pretty damn good (quality wise), so obviously that means that someone is uploading this from a promo or something. I wouldn’t be shocked if this bad boy leaks in a few days.

I literally just got this track, and am currently on my 2nd listen. I really am digging Alex’s signing on this record. He has come a long way since “Settle For A Draw”, eh??

This def sets the tone for the album right. The boys are 2 for 2 so far!!!!!!
