Muse’s new official single “Uprising” from their upcoming album The Resistance has taken the route of the online leaks. I am currently on vacation in San Francisco, and I only have the Internet for a few more hours (which will be spent eating out!). My point is that I haven’t had time to read other peoples opinions on it.
Hell, if your reading this blog, you either want my opinion (god only knows why!), or just want the mp3! Well here it is:
I am digging it. Sure it is a bit over the top, but it still has the epic Muse stamp that has us all pumping our fists at the end of the day. It is also quite the funky track! I can groove to this…totally…They really know how to keep pumping out hits that have an epic apocalyptic vibe that cannot be found anywhere else. Their songs are evolving a little bit more with some dance elements that give them a fresh feeling.
Lately it seems to be the “cool” thing to hate on Muse, but fuck that!!!! They are my boys! Not many bands could pull off epic tracks like “Uprising”. If you can find a band that can write epic songs that sound like Muse, let me know.
This is a good first single, it caught my attention. I am sure it is causing quite a stir throughout music blogs right now, and you know what they say. No press is bad press. Let’s just hope the rest of The Resistance is this good.

Thank you for saying that! I totally agree, it’s become cool to hate Muse. And I find it all shocking since they’re such a great band. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album in September.

Muse are great!! When my friends say they’re bad, i ask why? And no one can ever give me a proper reason.
I think that the reason why poeple don’t like them, is because aren’t affraid of trying something different and NOT sounding like everyone else!! I admit i thought this song sounded very mainstream when i first heard it, but then i listened to it again and again and again and i fricken LOVE IT!! I think Muse are….. AWESOME.

Epic is an excellent word to describe them. Love it – eventhough it sounds a little more direction Pop. The song is great.
