Muse – Unnatural Selection

By Will, September 11th 2009 — with 4 comments MP3

Muse always please find ways to rock my speakers. They don’t just rock, they rock in a grand fashion! A great new example of this epicness is Unnatural Selection. It is off their upcoming new album The Resistance, and I think you should hear it.

This song has everything that I love in Muse summed up in about 7 minutes of epic, dramatic, space-opera, apocalyptic, rock and roll. The guitar riff’s in Unnatural Selection are just a rockin’ good time. It wouldn’t be out of place on Origin Of Symmetry.

The song just builds and builds over the nasty guitar riff. The chorus is big and cheesy, but that is why we love it. This song displays all the best qualities of Muse. Have fun listening to it, and rock out. This song must be absolutely fantastic live!!!

Just before seeing your blog I sent this song as a dedication to my friend on facebook. I told her I NEED to see this song live. They are so good live.

saw them for their VMA performance…they did a whole concert set before the live recording of “Uprising” and this was the first song. So freakin GOOD. I love them even more now!

You are absolutely right, I bought the album two days ago and since then I practically only play ‘Unnatural Selection’ – that song is the essence of MUSE!

    Greetings from germany,

Great song but do you know what the lyrics mean? I’ve seen an explanation on wiki but it is so watered down. These guys are extremely political and if people knew the sensitive nature of this song it would be considered something entirely different. No one dare speaks it.

Perhaps I’m reading between the lines but I don’t think so. Love your site by the way!!
