Phrazes For The Young – Bonus Tracks

I have really been enjoying Julian Casablancas’s solo album Phrazes For The Young. I really disagree with pitchfork’s 5.5 rating, but hey, that’s just me.

The album was released Tuesday, and some bonus tracks were padded to the itunes version.

One of them is the fantastic cover of the SNL skit called “I Wish It Was Christmas Today”. This classic SNL christmas skit actually turned out to be a perfect song for Julian to cover. EPIC. If you haven’t seen the skit that this cover came from, you better get on that. Watch it here.

Another bonus track that is well worth a listen is “30 Minute Boyfriend”. It could have been added as an additional track on the album, with the very thin 8 song tracklisting on Phrazes For The Young.

It’s the best B-Side ever… Fuck Josh Homme… definitely surprised like Homme that it didn’t make the album

    cheers!
