Unless you are living in a bubble, you are aware that the Yankees, the greatest team in sports history, won the World Series on Wednesday! I was lucky enough to have tickets for the game, and witnessed history.
What an experience! Seeing a team win the world series is rare enough, but being there when they win is just unbelievable! I feel so fortunate to have gone! I will never, ever, forget it.
I have been replaying the game ending play over and over. After Robinson Cano made the throw to Texiera, absolute chaos occured. Everyone in the stands was jumping up and down, screaming franctically, high fiving and hugging everyone in site. The team was jumping on top of each other on the field with “We Are The Champions” blasting from the speakers. Then the Yankees ran around the field with a Yankee flag high fiving fans and just acting like kids.
I actually predicted a possible World Series win this year, when I made this post in April. Weird right??
I am still taking it all in, this is the first world series win that I am really old enough to enjoy! Back in ‘98-2000 I was too young to really grasp the scope of a title. Now I completely understand how amazing it is.
Here’s my blog toast to the Yankees, and to all you fans out there!! To the envious Phillies, Red Sox, and Met fans, sorry! :-p
Congrats on the win Yankees, and here’s to #28 next year!!!!

Dear Guy,
You didn’t predict shit.
Yours Truly, Jules
My team would have won if we had the bankroll you had. The Classic Yankees team would look down at the current Yankees teams with utter disgust, you win on money alone, its sickening and pathetic, at least the Phillies had their own MR. OCTOBER, who in my opinion is better then Mr. Asshole Jackson because he did it in a modern era. Phuck the Yankees, but respect to the Classic Yankees of Old…true ball players

Oops…forgot to say great post! Looking forward to your next one.
i may be a redsox fan, but i cant stand haters. so congrats! im happy for you will.
thanks lindsay!
I’m no Yankee hater, I just hate when people try to take credit where it’s not due. Predicting a Yankees win? What the fuck. EVERYONE ALWAYS predicts a Yanks win. It’s expected, everyone knows that. I think it was expected this year more than any other BECAUSE of the huge salaries they were dishing out. The odds just go up when that happens. Predicting a Yankee championship is like saying “I think Tiger Woods is gonna win” or “mark my words, Alexander Ovechkin will score.” All three happen all the time, are expected to happen, and no one is surprised when they do. Therefore, you “predicting” a win is bullshit. No, it’s not “weird.” You predicted a win like every other Yankee fan, like every other year. My friends and I have a saying for people like you. You don’t get rewards for doing things on a regular basis. You don’t get paid to wipe your ass.
Lindsay, learn how to capitalize and punctuate. Also, no one likes a kiss-ass, not even Will.
Anyone who’ll take the Greyhound between games is alright in my book.
Greatest Sports Team In The World Though? Me thinks not.
Wow you are taking my post way, way, too seriously. My team won the world series, I am happy. I made a post hoping we would win earlier this year, I linked back to that. It was all in good fun.
Yes we have a high salary Jules, but look at the top salaries in baseball here (http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/salaries). Only 5 of the top 10 teams made the playoffs. Clearly, some teams spend money unwisely and it doesn’t pay off. The Yankees owners want to win and they gave their team the best product out there. But this is an arguement that goes no where. If the Yankees lost, you would say THEY SHOULD HAVE ONE. Now that we did win, it becomes THEY WERE GOING TO WIN NO MATTER WHAT.
First of all, why are you so hostile towards Lindsay? She is a friend of mine buddy-o, no need to be rude. Secondly she is just being nice. This is a music blog, I was just trying to celebrate my team’s win. I get it, your upset we won. I’m sorry the evil empire won it all. Just direct your anger elsewhere please. Neither she or I did anything to provoke you.
Look at your comments, you look ridiculous. Chill out
Will, after carefully reexamining my “anger” and it’s ridiculous manifestations, I’ve realized that I’m actually just mad at those god damn sports announcers. Baseball, basketball, football, you name it. Those guys just make me like sports less.
I can’t stay mad at you anyway. You give J. Casablancas the love he deserves.
I’m so glad we can all be friends!
It’s all good Jules. I do agree with you. Joe Buck and Tim M make the games horrible to watch.
Thanks for being a cool dude about it. Like Lindsay said, lets all be friends!
Will,
You had me at “hello”
