The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart have been one of the coolest things to come out of 2009. I had no expectations from their self titled record when it came out earlier this year, but it turned out to be a great pop rock record that may be up there in my favorite albums of 2009.

The wonderful NYC Taper recorded their set at the Bell House from November 15th. This includes a recording of a brand new song called “Say No To Love”. It isn’t anything different from The Pains output so far, but that’s fine with me as long as they keep sounding so great.

I can just blast this in my room no matter what kind of mood that I’m in. It just has a natural appealing nature that puts a smile on your face every time you listen to it. Now that’s what I call music!
