It’s a lazy sunday and I am just trying to get through the next few days to get home for thanksgiving break. I need it!
I didn’t feel like doing any intense blogging today, so I found this cover from Pigeons and Planes today and really thought it was worth a post. This is my 2nd post focusing on covers, sorry about my lack of creativity this weekend!
Lykke Li does the song justice with her haunting/beautiful rendition. This version is live, and I don’t think it could be done any better. The raw passion of this version makes it. You gotta love Lykke Li after hearing this:

True, the Shirelles recorded this song first (in 1960) but please give credit to the songwriters Gerry Goffin and Carole King (who were married in September 1960). This song has been recorded by dozens of artists, most notably Carole King herself on her classic 1971 album, Tapestry.
