The whole indie music community is pretty much cumming collectively to this amazing Animal Collective track. For good reason too! This song is one of Animal Collective’s most brilliant tracks yet! The entire Fall Be Kind EP is quite a listen! Beautiful/amazing/thrilling/gripping – however you want to describe it!
Everything about this song is practically perfect. Every electronic sound, every unique vocal from Panda Bear/Avey Tare, none of it goes unnoticed. The song opens up with about 2 minutes of looped vocals over the sound of cymbals being hit. At the 2:30 mark, the song is transitioned with some clean effects that pave the way for the epic refrain. Panda Bear comes in with his usual great vocal work, crafting a masterpiece. The song is made in a really unusual way with beats and vocals mished and mashed, making the song a mind fuck for the mind. It is up to you choose what you hear, which is the beauty of many AC songs.
It is amazing to think that Animal Collective were able to come back with a great release so soon after MPP. With songs like “WWIW?S”, I am completely confident that Animal Collective are only getting started. They go into 2010 standing on the top, ready to make the next decade their own.
I think when we make our favorite songs of 2009 list, there will be way too many Animal Collective songs in the list. It’s almost unfair!

For whatever reason I was really never into all the Animal Collective hype. I never gave them the opportunity they deserved based on all of the constant praise.
This song, however, absolutely blew me away; what a layered journey. I need to backtrack and check out their catalog.
This track blows me away every time I hear it. Avey’s vox are near perfect and anytime Panda can accentuate is pure butter! We put together our lists yesterday and you’re right, too many AC songs to fight over.
