Like I posted a month ago, things may get more personal on this blog. I hope that you do come here to find some good new tunes, and get the scoop on the latest music news! However, I don’t want this blog to become boring either. This is not a professional music website like stereogum or pitchfork, this is my music blog! I mean, the only thing that really separates me from music news sites is the personal touch. I feel like music blogs are defined by the writers personalities. So, I hope that you come to We All Want Someone To Shout For for the music, but that you also enjoy get something else out of it. If not, then this site is just another music blog hidden within the hundreds if not thousands out there now.
Like I bitched about before, I need this semester to end already. The tests are coming, and the work has really been piling up. I’m beyond sick of school right now. Winter break cannot come soon enough!! I have been blasting Spoon’s new single Written In Reverse (mp3 below!) all day! It gets better with every listen, and I already loved it to begin with! I’ve also been going back to The Postal Service’s classic album Give Up as well as all of Sigur Ros’s albums as I have been “studying”. Going back to familiar albums helps a lot more with the process, that’s for sure.
I will try to keep the blog updated, but no promises. I am seeing Arctic Monkeys on December 11th, so once that comes winter break will pretty much be on it’s way!
[mp3] : Spoon – Written In Reverse

ParallelComics — 1 Dec 09
I can relate on 3 out of 4 levels. I am a college student, I’m loving Written in Reverse on repeated plays and I’m seeing Arctic Monkeys soon (13th) but my semester has actually gotten easier of late.
Well, batting .750 ain’t bad.

Word up, I also feel way too many blogs simply post whatever they just found a link for, like without actually listening or enjoying the music much less having an original opinion.
glookin, keep droppin musical jewels

Will, good luck with school. I’m flying out from San Diego for both Arctics shows. But how can you go to just one! Thought you were a fan!
Will — 1 Dec 09
@Parallel – Haha your batting 1.000! I wish I could say that my semester is getting easier!
@ Jon (SV) – Yeah man, too many blogs are just posting just for the hits. Very rarely do you stumble across a blog that truly captivates the essence of “music blog”. We need more bloggers who give life to the music. People just do it for the hits and its just killing music blogs in general imo.
@blake – Your flying out here for the shows? Thats intense man, props! I would have gone to the show on thursday in nyc but I have a test on friday before the friday show. I also can’t quite afford to go to both shows lol!

Will – Definitely gotta give credit to you for adding so much of yourself into each post. It’s really rare to find a music blog that does that. I’ve been a regular visitor ever since I’ve found it and it never disappoints. Keep it up, and good luck with the school work. I’m with you on that boat.
Peace!

@blake:
Back-to-back Arctic Monkeys shows? Wow, that IS hardcore! I mean,I would do it if it meant that one of the nights they’d bust out some FWN era B-sides. Crap, who am I kidding? I guess I’d do it anyway. Flying across the country, though, now that’s a cruncher.
The first time they came to Boston this year, tickets were gone before the general online sale started so I was thrilled to get in to the 13th show. I’ve never even seen them live at all. Now, just Maximo Park, the Fratellis and Franz Ferdinand left on my live Britpop checklist!

probably shouldn’t tell you guys about the 3 nights in a row i did with my brother this september (SD, LA, OAK). we went to the NY and Boston shows in August too.. i just love them man. that’s how i found your blog, by the way. to be honest, i was pretty biased against other bands before you opened me up to them, Will!
Will — 2 Dec 09
@Confusion – Thanks man, I totally appreciate it! I really just try to write about how the music impacts my life. I think that is really the point of a music blog, you know? Love your blog too, I mean, you are one of the busiest bloggers in the game right now. Props to that!
@parallel – I could use some FWN b-sides, those are all mint!! I want to see Maximo Park as well!
@blakejp – Wow I am jealous! I’ve seen them 4 times, and thought I was lucky. You are a lucky bastard haha! I love your dedication though! If I had more money I would totally join you! I really am proud to know that I helped you find new music. That was the goal of this blog. Glad to hear my dude!

Thanks for the refreshing thoughts. I just found your blog this week and the reason I’ve been coming back is because you do provide a different view of things and it is SO nice. Many other blogs merge and blur into one and well it’s dull. Keep on doing it I say
Plus I didn’t even know there was a new Spoon album coming out! … they’re amazing – oh to see them live one day!
ParallelComics — 2 Dec 09
@Will – Has there ever been a more perfect 4-track maxi-single than Fluorescent Adolescent? Of course, Brianstorm was also good, but that was same album, so the point stands.
Wait, Cornerstone is pretty excellent, too. Ooh, maybe they’ll play Catapult on this leg of the tour!
I actually still have the .pdf on my desktop for a print-at-home ticket to see Maximo Park in September, bought before they canceled the whole American tour. I can’t bear to delete it. Same thing happened with the Fratellis and my schedule screwed my chances of seeing Franz Ferdinand. (Actually, I’m hoping my bad luck doesn’t cancel the Arctic Monkeys tour!)

@stephb – Thanks for coming back
! I am glad that you have been enjoying my blog, that was my intention! I am glad that I am not considered dull, that is definitely a plus! Thanks for the kind words, it means the world to me!!
@parallelcomics – I agree, but I also love the Who The Fuck EP along with the Brianstorm. I <3 both of them!!
That sucks about Maximo Park, that happened to me with Keane.
