The new tracks keep on piling on! Hot Chip‘s new single “One Life Stand” is worthy enough to share its title with the album. And for good reason! This is a really enjoyable track!! Hot Chip are defined as a band that creates a great dance tune paving the way for a beautiful chorus. They have become masters at this craft for years now, there is certainly no one better at it! I am not sure if I like this or “Take It In” better. They are both good, but there isn’t a clear winner between the two. I never had this problem when they were releasing singles like “Over and Over” “Boy From School” and “Ready For The Floor”. Those were clear gems, that are worthy as some of the decades finest songs (in my opinion!).
This is a very worthy pick for the album’s first single. It will be released on Feb 1st, with the album coming out a week later on Feb 9th. 2010 can’t come soon enough! It’s 3:57, and I am really tired. I got a lot more work to do, but for now I’m digging the music. This week is hell, but it is going pretty fast, which is a good thing!
