With 2010 right around the corner, I have been listening to a lot of the stuff that is scheduled to come out in the new year. I have been obsessivly listening to the new Beach House record Teen Dream, along with the rest of the blogosphere for weeks now. I love the whole album, it is a sure shot at one of the best albums of the year.
It was tough for me at first to choose my favorite track off of the album. What is that one track that I keep going back to more than the others? What was the one song that I loved from the first listen? Hands down, it has to be the album closer “Take Care”. It is one of Beach House’s finest moments without a doubt.
It is an epic way to finish a pretty glorious album. Victoria sings her heart and soul out here, over a more than memorable chorus. There is something really dramatic and powerful about it. Very anthem like. Victoria’s vocals are miles beyond uplifting, creating a hazy dream atmosphere.
I could totally see this being used at the end of a movie when two lovers finally reconnect, and realizee their love for one another. Do you hear me studio executives?!?!?

I totally agree with you on the cinematic quality of this track. For me, rather than two lovers reconnecting, it evokes a scene that involves a person, driving through dramatic and depressing rural landscapes, alone with their thoughts. Thanks for posting this track, it’s beautiful!

YES, this album is killer! I’d agree that “Take Care” is probably the strongest track – and that’s saying a lot based on all the other great songs. The opener “Zebra” is one of my favs too.
