Pantha Du Prince dropping dark electronic beats with Panda Bear himself dropping down some guest vocals?? I had no idea that these two knew each other, so this was a really cool to see!
Panda’s vocals are not here to overshadow the song, rather they play a smaller role. More so compliment the song than take over. Just like in Animal Collective, Panda Bear, uses his voice as another instrument. Pantha lays down a pretty straight forward beat for Panda to do his thing. Panda responds with a mildly restrained chorus that is still going to find a way in my head for the next few hours. He gives Pantha du Prince’s song a new dimension, and it works triumphantly. This one should grow on a lot of people who may be expecting something different from this collab.
Pantha Du Prine is 2/2 with new songs these last two days (check out The Splendour, from yesterday!). I can’t wait to hear the rest of Black Noise, which drops on February 9th!!!
