Everyone is done with their holiday, and that means an absolute overload of press mail from record labels and PR companies! I love it! Except when I get press emails about Pink. I guess they don’t read my blog! For the most part most of the email today was rubbish, but there were a few gems. I did get enlightened with some great new music, with bands such as Warpaint in the mix!
Warpaint debuted the video for their excellent song “Elephants” which will be on their EP, Exquisite Corpse. There is plenty to love about the song. The 70’s vibe, frantic guitar, sexy bassline. It sounds frantic, urgent, and dreamy. These girls have a sound that is going to be eaten up by fans of Cat Power.
Warpaint is a fresh discovery. There songs really caught my attention from the get-go. Something about their sound caught my ear, and would not let go. Their music is pretty immediate and shows enough depth so that you begin to notice new things as you continue to hit replay. There is no doubt in my mind that Warpaint is a must watch act for 2010! I’m in love!
