I was browsing vampire weekend stuff on youtube and came across an excellent acoustic cover of my favorite song from Contra, “Diplomats Son”:
Not much was posted about who the guy was, so I contacted him on youtube and found out his name is Mason Maggio. He’s a musician who is currently in two bands known as The Republic Of Wolves, and Tigers On Trains. Animal themed much?
This guy is a talented musician and did an excellent job with Diplomat Son. Vampire Weekend would be proud!

Mason Maggio’s version is good because I can actually understand the lyrics. I love Ezra, but he needs to enunciate a bit on his own complex lyrics.

@Jules – sorry to be “bothering” you, but I saw a great cover and posted it. I thought people would be happy to see it. I have been posting a lot of VW stuff, but if you don’t wanna read it you don’t have to!! I am glad to have your readership, and I hope you keep reading, but I will continue posting good stuff if I see it, even if it is the same band!
