Bluish is really nice! I didn’t see The High Road by Broken Bells though (unless it is a 2010 release). This is a really cool tune with excellent vocals.

no problem. and don’t take it as a personal attack against your taste, because i think you have a lot of good picks. i just think 2009 was a great year for music, and i’d go mad trying to put a list of 50 of my favorites together. sambassadeur, star & micey, gonzo48k, fancy mammals, tiny animals, 16mm, holy ghost, walter meego, weaver at the loom, washed out, mirrors, noissetes, millionyoung, odawas, memory tapes. AH!

Your list is similar to mine, and I can almost easily say that Bluish is my favorite song of ’09 as well. But really? You’re going to take an ethereal, spacey, unrelentingly pretty, lush song and hold it in such high regards and then throw a little post script that it’s PROBABLY about CUNNILINGUS? Why’s that? Actually I don’t really care, but thanks now I just think of the funky munch every time I hear this once beautiful, almost spiritual tune. I’m just kidding, you didn’t ruin it for me, but you really could’ve left that out.

There is plenty of music out there, yes. But these were my personal favorite songs of the year. I can assure you that I am not confined to a music bubble. I listened to plenty of 2009 music, but a lot of it did nothing for me. I honestly enjoyed however many number of songs from the same albums and I stand by my decision.

I didn’t expect everyone to agree with it. But it is what it is. These were my favorite/most listened to songs of the year. I guess we can just agree to disagree james!

still…if you’re repeating artists in a top 50 list, still means you’re confined to a music bubble, 12,000 songs or not. there’s too much music out there. honestly, i think your list consists of like 12 bands.
