One Million Page Views

By Will, January 27th 2010 — with 10 comments

I was looking at my sitemeter, and realized that We All Want Someone To Shout For got it’s one millionth page view this past Sunday. I just took note off it. I still have my sitemeter stats from the old link (weallwantsomeone.com) and I did the math and we hit our one millionth page view on Sunday January 24th!

This is beyond amazing!! I started the blog in the summer of 2008 just to entertain some friends and maybe grab a few random readers along the way. I never thought I would hit one million ANYTHING. Especially not in less than two years! For a modest music blogger who is just blogging about what he loves, this is pretty damn cool!

I still go a little bit to go to reach my one millionth visitor, but we will worry about that when it comes. The difference between visitor and page view is pretty big. A visitor is you. If you click two pages, I get two page views. But no matter how many pages you read, it counts as one visit for that day (I believe). So the one millionth visitor is clearly a bigger deal.

I just want to thank each and everyone of you guys for reading my blog, and for making it what it is today. This is pretty crazy!!!

[Video] Local Natives – Airplanes

By Will, January 27th 2010

Local Natives are good guys. I have big hopes for them this year, and in the future. It made me glad to hear that they finally made an official video for their fantastic song Airplanes which was my #7 on my top 50 songs of 2009. The song has been out since 2008, but it got released “officially” along with their debut album Gorilla Manor last year in the UK. It is finally getting released this year stateside on Feb 16. You can order it from the band right now!

I posted the vid for Airplanes below. It was directed by Mark Waring.

Savoir Adore – Bodies

By Will, January 27th 2010 — with 2 comments

My girlfriend Jade introduced me to Savoir Adore a few months ago but I guess I failed to realize their genius until now. I was just reminded of them via press email and realized that I was missing out on something pretty special! Savoir Adore are a four piece mainly consisting of Deidre Muro and Paul Hammer. Grab a listen at the delightful song “Bodies” from their debut album In The Wooded Forest and you will discover why these guys are pretty special!

They are said to make imaginative pop songs that are full of intricate rhythms, and multiple layers of sound. I am currently seeking out the rest of their debut album because I was really impressed with the quality of “Bodies”. It was released in 2009 so like I said, I was way late, but so was the rest of the blogosphere. Lets get Savoir Adore out there, they definitely deserve it.

[new] Justice – Beginning Of The End

By Will, January 26th 2010 — with 4 comments

Just checked my email and I was graced with a new single from Justice! It’s called “Beginning Of The End”. No other details were attatched other than that. For some reason the song sorta reminds me of another part of a song that they did before. It falls a little bit flat for me, but it is still a decent listen.

I’m guessing a new album is due sometime this year! If I hear of anything, I’ll let you know!

Download it below:

Update: Turns out this is a fake song sent by a hacker who hacked into the Ed Banger Records Email. Sorry about that folks!

[NEW] Joanna Newsom – ’81

By Will, January 26th 2010 — with 2 comments

Got a brand new Joanna Newsom song from you. Pitchfork notified the indie world that Drag City was streaming a brand new song from Joanna Newsom’s upcoming triple album Have One On Me. The song is pretty simplistic, but it’s beauty is pretty undeniable.

Have One On Me is due in stores Feb 23rd. Give ’81 a try below, it probably won’t be up for much longer:

The Cranberries – Dreams

By Will, January 26th 2010 — with 8 comments

Today is my first day of classes. I have off Mon, Wed, and Friday, but have a complete overload of classes on Tuesday and Thursdays. Today is Tuesday, so I don’t have too much time for posting obviously. I am fitting one in really early before my first class!

Ever since Passion Pit covered The Cranberries masterful hit “Dreams”, I haven’t been able to stop listening to  it. The Cranberries are an Irish rock band from the 90′s who received acclaim for their debut album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We? The album featured their hit, Dreams a dreamy delight that mixes rock and electronic music in a flawless manner.

Every music fan deserves to know about The Cranberries. At least have the song “Dreams” in your library and give it a go when you are doing some light thinking, or hardcore reflecting. It will be just as delightful.

Gotta love the 90′s.

Thom Yorke played a new one for all the lucky concert goers who attended Radioheads Hati Benefit one off gig. It was “Lotus Flower” a song that he debuted during his short solo tour a few months back. He performed it again last night and I have officially fallen in love with it. It is a beautiful song that does well sitting alone with just Thom and his guitar.

Check out Lotus Flower below:

I can’t wait for the new Radiohead album, and I’m sure that I’m not alone!

[NEW] Goldfrapp – Rocket

By Will, January 25th 2010 — with 7 comments

I guess my guess of Goldfrapp as the mysterious identity in the viral video iamamiwhoami was way off as her first single “Rocket” is already out there. It the opening song off her new album Head First. The single is a glossy take at the 80′s disco. Goldfrapps main focus is on lush synths and catchy chorus’s and the sky is the limit for them. The song is everything that you expect from a new Goldfrapp single, and I am hooked in right now!

This is one of my first few listens at anything Goldfrapp, but I really like her! I guess I gotta go find some older Goldfrapp and educate myself!

[mp3] : Goldfrapp – Rocket

“Rocket” comes out as a single on March 8th, while Head First comes out on 3/22. Keep checking Mute for pre-order offerings!
