Yeasayer released another single from their upcoming new album Odd Blood. They picked “O.N.E.” as the follow-up single to “Ambling Alp”, and I think they made a fine choice. The song switches off from a funky tribal dance tune, to a sweat gentle ballad. Yeasayer weaves in and out of some of their most dance friendly sounds with a sultry sweat chorus that is every bit as sincere as it comes off as.
It’s tough to single out what part of “O.N.E.” makes the track so delicious. It could be Chris Keating’s vocals, the 80s friendly synths, or the tribal percussion. The point is, this track is a winner!
