La Blogotheque always find ways to capture our favorite bands in the most special moments. This time they caught Vampire Weekend as a part of their wonderful live documentation of the finest indie bands performing short acoustic sets of their songs. Vampire Weekend played a really sincere set of songs that had a lot of energy. They played Cousins, California English, Walcott, Horchata, A-Punk, and a cover of Have I The Right?, a song by The Honeycombs.
There are moments during California English that gives me goosebumps. No, Ezra doesn’t use autotune, and it works just as well without it during an acoustic set. The crowd is really into the set, and that is a large part of why this recording works. They connect with the crowd effortlessly, it’s like they are playing for dozens of old familiar friends!
I gotta say, the boys do know their french pretty well!!
If you have 23 minutes free, watch this live set. It is worth your time!
