MGMT mentioned that their new album, “Congratulations” may end up being released in April at the Grammy’s. It seems like the band are confirming this with a April 13th release date. There is no official announcement, but the band has a countdown on their website, and it leads to April 13th, which is a Tuesday. Coincidence? Probably not! A moving image of the ocean heads the band’s page. Possible album cover as well? They sure do love their beach/water imagery!
On a seperate note, the band is playing at Coachella, as well as Bamboozle. For those of you in the metro area, you may actually want to consider Day 2 of Bamboozle. Bands that make it worth going? : MGMT, Weezer, Minus The Bear, Matt & Kim, Girl Talk, Fun. , Ok Go, Wale….. I am considering going because of these artists, and a lot of my friends are going. It looks like Bamboozle are figuring out that good indie rock will even out the crowds at the festival that is primarily known for it’s emo/teen rock bands.
