Checked my twitter and saw an @ message from one of my cool followers who notified me that a new Kate Nash song was out there. She posted a new song “I Just Love You More” for free download on her website. The song took me completely by surprise, sounding nothing like Kate Nash did on her debut album Made Of Bricks. She pretty much did a complete 180 degree transformation from her old piano based sound. Gone is the cute, brutally honest, piano pop rock anthems that Kate Nash made us fall in love with back in 2008.

Nash channels her inner Karen O and gives us garage rock screams. Yes, screams!! Through in some moans as well. The song is led by a dirty guitar riff that ignites the song to a surprising level of rockness that I didn’t expect from Kate! Add in some epic strings, and you got one hell of a track. Kate has turned to rock and roll, and I couldn’t be happier with the result!

“I Just Love You More” came out of left field, and left me very pleasantly surprised. It is off of her upcoming second album, which is currently untitled. (However, Angry Ape reports that the working/tentative title is Crayon Full Of Colour & that she was influenced by punk & girl groups) It is set to come out on April 20th. You UK fans can pre-order the album at play. Kate Nash is running a pretty interesting contest at her site where fans can submit poems/stores/letters about there first time falling in love. Kate will select her favorite and include it within a book that comes with the limited edition of the album. Head to her site for more info!
