According to Spin, Coldplay are aiming for a December release date for their new album. The band said that they are more excited to make new music than ever before. They are huddled up tight in a London Church recording the new material that will become LP5. You can say that I am very, very, excited. Coldplay has always been a favorite of mine, and their breathtaking performance at All Points West sealed the deal. When looking back on our generation, I think Coldplay will is one of the few acts that gets appreciation from both mainstream/indie audiences (alongside Radiohead of course).
Don’t quote me, but this album is going to be pretty good. The band is really excited, and they are recording it in a church. All the signs point to a delightful album. Can’t wait!!

Never been a big fan of Coldplay. Parachutes was pretty good, but I wasn’t a fan of both of their next two (especially LP 3, gosh that was terrible). Viva La Vida wasn’t bad, imo, but lyrically Martin isn’t able to back up the focus that goes on his voice.
If more emphasis was put on the band members other than Martin, I’d like Coldplay more. Still, I’ll be looking forward to seeing if they continue their trend in the right direction!
