Doing some late night blog reading and came across an excellent song posted on the just as excellent GorillavsBear. It featured the lead single for Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti’s upcoming new album with record label 4AD. The song is called “Round and Round”. Chris from GVB is calling the song an early front-runner for song of the year. I personally wouldn’t say it’s the song of the year, but it’s certainly a very strong tune. I can’t say that I’ve heard anything else like it in recent memory, so kudos to them for that.
I have enjoyed the songs company over the last 30 minutes or so. It has a funky, lazy, retro vibe to it that teen’s in the 70’s would have drooled all over. It starts off slow but picks up nicely as it progresses into a chorus that welcomes a colorful realm of sights and sounds.
Groovy.
