One of the benefits of staying up to 4 AM is seeing the stuff that is posted on early morning tweets from bands located in the UK, where they are operating at a normal schedule. I noticed Hot Chip tweeted that their new video for “I Feel Better” was up, and gave it a go. I gotta say, it was pretty bizarre in pretty much every way. Not sure what happened aside from the band turning into UK popstars JLS (thanks for the tip Chris) and an alien/sorcerer coming and blowing people up. It was directed by Peter Serafinowicz. The song truly gets better on every listen. Great stuff.

Will, the video is definitely a parody of the UK pop group JLS (http://www.jlsofficial.com) who I think were in X Factor over here.
Other than that I don’t really know what the fuck’s going on. I though perhaps the bald guy was some sort of representation of people not wanting manufactured crap but then he joined in. Or perhaps he does represent that but represents the fact people try not to like manufactured stuff but do get sucked in, a la gaga. But then the black bodyless dude pops up and spoils the party… meh, I dunno.
Maybe I’m just overthinking it and it’s just a funny video that they want to go viral…
