I’m pretty sure that Jónsi could make anything sound beautiful. His voice is a gift from god himself. He went to BBC’s Live Lounge not too long ago and dropped a marvolous cover of MGMT’s Time To Pretend. He takes the song and flips it on it’s head, giving it a completely new feel. It’s really lovely.
The timing of this cover is pretty appropriate as many MGMT fans are probably wishing a lot of the stuff on Congratulations sounding a bit more like their old.

Dude, I feel like his take on the lyrics is almost better than the original. I mean, whenever somebody completely reinvents a song by covering it there is always controversy, but take All Along the Watchtower, even Bob Dylan admitted Jimi Hendrix’s version was better. Same goes for Joe Cocker’s version of With a Little Help from my Friends, in Across the Universe they used his arrangement of the song for the movie soundtrack. More recently Iron & Wine covering Such Great Heights became just as popular as the original. So, what I’m trying to prove is something that can easily be observed, sometimes the original isn’t the best.
