[mp3]: Gauntlet Hair – I Was Thinking…

By Will, April 29th 2010 — with 1 comment MP3

Last night I asked my twitter followers what their favorite song of 2010 was. I got a ton of songs from Plastic Beach as responses, but I also got a few people who strongly voted for Gauntlet Hair’s “I Was Thinking…”. I missed out of this one, but thanks to the good people who responded I am now caught up.

“I Was Thinking…” will be the second ever vinyl release on Forest Family Records, the record label created by music blogs Gorilla vs. Bear & Weekly Tape Deck. Gauntlet Hair have a dreamy sound that floats somewhere between the likes of Animal Collective & Broken Social Scene. The vocals and guitars on “I Was Thinking…” share a haunting blanket of reverb that creates a wondrous sound. It hits all the right spots.
