There aren’t too many moments that would make me want to drive all the way up to Canada. If the opportunity to see the Arcade Fire in a 50 person venue came up, I’d drop everything instantly and find a way to that gig.

A 50 person warm-up show is exactly what happened last friday, June 4th, at The Notman House in Montreal. Sean from wonderful Said The Gramophone was lucky enough to attend, and he posted an incredible review of the show. The band played eight new songs. Sean said the standout’s were either “Empty Room” or “Ready To Start”. Consequence of Sound has posted an alleged photo of the show’s setlist.

From the sound of it, this band somehow found ways to improve. I can’t wait to see them at MSG with Spoon. Remember tickets for that show go on sale this week. (Wed is the American Express pre-sale, Thurs is the fan-club pre-sale, and Saturday is the regular sale)

Pop Montreal posted videos from the show. I posted them below:

Here is the setlist from the show:

The Suburbs
Ready to Start
Month of May
Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)
City With No Children
Rococo
Keep the Car Running
Empty Room
Modern Man
Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)
Rebellion (Lies)
Suburban War
Wake Up
