Levi’s Pioneer Sessions just released a new free cover by The Shins. They covered the Squeeze song “Goodbye Girl”. James Mercer’s vocals are a perfect fit for this song, and they effectively make the song sound like it’s a Shins original.

The Shins lineup has changed since we last saw them. The band that recorded this cover consisted of only 2 Shins members of old: James Mercer & Dave Hernandez. New members included Joe Plummer (Modest Mouse)on drums, while Sean Flora took over the keyboard.

I’ll surely miss the old Shins lineup, but they sound damn good on this cover:
