Oh man, after so many years of waiting, it looks like Dr. Dre is actually going to release his famed album Detox. “Under Pressure”, the first single from Detox has just leaked via The New Music Cartel. Detox has been in the works since early 2003, so it’s not quite at the level of Chinese Democracy, but it was starting to look like it may have gotten to that point.

“I treat everyday like the weekend?” Come on. This phrase is just tired and overused. Jay-Z’s flow and rhyming seems much more deft than Dr. Dre, who is just a bit clunky and doesn’t seem like he has full control of his beat. I don’t know if this was worth the wait. I’ll have to listen to it closer to get a better grasp, but it seems to be lacking the ease and maturity I would expect from Dre. Thanks for sharing, though!
