Burnt Ones

By Will, June 29th 2010 MP3

One of the blogs that I used to read as a young teenager when I was really getting into music was My Old Kentucky Blog. It’s amazing to see how far all those amazing 2004-2005 era blogs have come. Some, such as My Old Kentucky Blog, have even created their own record labels. Dodge is a top class guy, and it is my pleasure to introduce you guys to his record label, Roaring Colonel Records, as well as one of the bands on the label: Burnt Ones.

Burnt Ones are a three piece rock band based out of Indianapolis, Indiana who just released their debut album Black Teeth & Golden Tongues. I have only given it one solid listen so far, but I am convinced that it is not to be missed already. They also released a stellar 7″ single called All Night Long which got the ball rolling. Their brand of rock is not limited to one area. There are elements of garage, psych, shining through all of their songs. The hazy 50s/60s inspired melodies are dripping through their teeth & through your speakers. They have a natural sense of melody that is enhanced through their wall of sound production.

Dodge has given blogs the ok to post three songs from the album, which you can better grab below:

[mp3]: Burnt Ones – Bury Me In Smoke
[mp3]: Burnt Ones – Gonna Listen To T.Rex (All Night Long)
[mp3]: Burnt Ones – Bring You All My Love
