Foster The People are my latest obsession. I discovered them after Pigeons and Planes selected them for his song on DailyBeatz incredible Blogwave Summer 2010 playlist. I’m practically living off this song. Who needs food & water when you got essential jams blasting out of your speakers.

It probably is “the” chill song of 2010 for me right now. With a bassline that is literally dripping with a cool confidence, it sets the way for more than appropriate low-fi vocals that are a perfect fit. Try not to whistle along when the PB&J-esque whistling kicks in towards the end. The chorus is just full fledged glory. These guys have crafted a song that is guaranteed to give you more than its fair share of good vibes.

Foster The People started as Mark Foster and grew into something more late into fall of 2009. The band is based out of Los Angeles, and is surely one of the it bands of 2010 to keep an eye out for. Be sure to save some room for “Pumped Up Kicks” on your essential summer 2010 playlists. Big things are on the way for these guys. People are calling them the next MGMT type indie explosion. I would love to see that.

I wish I had my own record label, because I would have signed these guys instantly. Mark Ronsen is apparently a huge fan of the guys and may even produce their album.

Like I said, big things.
