Damn forgot to post about this wonderful french band called Corte Real that I’ve been meaning to post about. I’ve been sitting on their St. Louis EP this summer and it is plain unfair to the rest of the world that these guys are not bigger.

Hailing from Versailles, France these guys bring a worldly sound that isn’t distinctively just one genre or influenced by just one particular region. These guys are as diverse as they come. They have a sound that is bound to please tons of people. Imagine The Libertines mixed with Bob Dylan. Or a French version of The Walkmen. Sounds pretty magical, doesn’t it? Well guess what, this is what Corte Real brings to the table. With a voice that channels the best of Dylan.

The perfect setting for a Corte Real performance would be in a dark bar with the lights dimmed just enough to let the cigarette smoke amidst the noise. Corte Real would be playing on floor covered with split beer. Crowds young and old would be stuck in their sound, as it is soothing for the soul. I have been completely immersed in St. Louis, and it’s only a matter of time until you are too.

Somehow Corte Real is not signed yet, but I doubt this will be the case for much longer. The St. Louis EP is simply stunning, and it’s only a matter of time before the world falls in love with this band.

Check out two amazing cuts from the EP below:
