I got a pair of tickets to giveaway for The Henry Clay People + The Dig at The Mercury Lounge on October 16th. Both are bright young bands who you shouldn’t miss. All you got to do to win is leave a comment below telling me how you found my blog. I’ll pick a winner with the coolest answer within the next week. Sound cool?
Unfortunately all Mercury Lounge shows are 21 and over. So just make sure your old enough to enter, please. Good luck to all!
Here are songs from both bands to give you a taste, if you’re unfamiliar:
[mp3]: The Henry Clay People – Something In The Water
[mp3]: The Dig – You’re Already Gone
[mp3]: The Dig – Two Sisters In Love
Also, here is a video of The Dig played “Sick Sad Morning” live at The Mercury Lounge:

I found this bitch when I saw some tall mofo standing in the front row at the Arctic Monkeys’ Terminal 5 show in December and said “I wonder if that dude has a blog.”
Low and behold…

I don’t just find things, I’m drawn towards them, especially if they are ultra-cool and loaded with free music.
BTW, I don’t want the tickets – I live in Wales which is a few thousand miles from NYC so they’re not much use to me. Be nice if I won anyway tho. You could give the tix to 2nd place…

I saw the movie Timer and loved the soundtrack, looked up the bands (loved that The Henry Clay People were actually in the movie for more than just the background for a few shots) and started tracking down info on them… came across your blog while looking up more info, trying to go to a local concert next month.

I stumbled upon u while “digging” for tickets for tonight… So if u “feel like somebody else” should get to see “your famous friends”, it’ll be a “sad sick morning” for me. I’d love to be one of the lucky (henry clay) people! If “you’re already gone”, I’ll be “working part time” and “look inside” the Mercury lounge for your “shadow”. Cos “I just wanna talk to you.” “for all your sins.” Who knows, “two lives at the end of the night” may just help “carry me home.” Was this attempt a “slow burn?”
