Vermillion Club consists of Dylan Campbell and Zeno Pittarelli, two dudes who attend Binghamton University with me. They formed this year and have just released their first single “Odd”. It’s quite lovely.
“Odd” is packed to the brim with lush harmonies. I can hear a bit of Sufjan Stevens in there, and it’s not just from the vocals. There are many good sounds coming out of Vermillion Club. Your gonna love them. It’s amazing to hear such talented work coming out of two kids who I’m going to school with.

“Odd” will be on their debut album Home. If you head to their myspace you can hear a preview of the album.

Really liking this. I can hear the Sufjan coming through but they have put a nice stylish twist on it. Going straight to the ipod.

This honestly sounds like a Sufjan b-side, which is awesome. That being said, I think they’re going to become knows as “those guys who sound like Sufjan.” Which might get kinda old, seeing as how Sufjan has already kinda filled that spot. I look forward to hearing what comes next, and I’d be interested to hear more experimenting.

I only made the Sufjan reference because of the organic folky feel of his voice. I mean it’s only one song from them. They still have plenty of songs to show what else they can do.

I think that the voice does sound like Sufjan but the music itself doesn’t. This was way catchier than I thought it was going to be and I really think these guys could be big. I’m surprised I’m not hearing more about them.

Wow, this music sucks.
