High Violet is one of my favorite albums of 2010. It may even be my favorite. Time will tell it’s ultimate fate on my best of list, but we are all pretty aware of my adoration for this band. It gives me great joy to announce that the band is re-releasing the album with a glorious set of bonus tracks on November 22nd via 4AD.

Along with the original album, there will be a 2nd disc of eight songs . There will be two new songs “You Were A Kindness” & “Wake Up Your Saints”, as well as the b-sides “Walk Off” & “Sin-Eaters”. There will also be three live recordings, along with an alternative version of “Terrible Love”.

I’m all about some new songs. It should also be interesting to see how this alternate version of “Terrible Love” sounds. It was supposed to be a track they had trouble choosing a final version, so it should be cool to see what else they were considering. The song will also be released as a new 7″ on November 22nd with “You Were A Kindness” as it’s b-side.
