I meant to post Freelance Whales new single, “Enzymes” when it came out, but something happened and it got lost in the mix. It was released as the latest Green Label Sound single, and it’s the first look at Freelance Whales with a bigger budget. You can really hear the band coming into their own with a formidable sound that they should be proud of.
Download “Enzymes” below via Green Label Sound:

I have mixed feelings about this song. The first time I heard it I thought it was way too electronic and over produced for Freelance, because I loved their ability to mix electronic music with banjos and other less common instruments. This seems to be borderline Hellogoodbye (synths) meets Beach House (reverb vocals). Freelance Whales had a very unique sound on their debut album and it would be a shame to lose it.

Hey they’re a band trying to make it and a label asked them to release a one off single. Not like they’re selling their souls. Bands gotta eat too!

Really love Freelance Whales…
I’ve also really been into the new band Bad Books which features Kevin Devine and Manchester Orchestra…
